Village Studio Records are proud to announce the launch of New Orleans ex-pat living in London Phil Parnell teams up with the excellent bass and drums of Danish musicians Torben Bjoernskov and Espen Laub von Lillienskjold on this unusual recording to bring together the sounds reminiscent of New Orleans splashed with electronica, sweet ballads, and funky rhythms. Everyone knows that in a trio it takes three to hokey pokey and putting the right foot in is one of the first steps in making it happen, but when three friends who really enjoy each others musical company come together with a common vision it comes through in the music and the magic starts to happen, the fairies start to dance and toes get tickled. While most recently known for his work with the various projects of electronic genius Matthew Herbert and soulful New Orleans R&B vocalist Lillian Boutte', Phil has written and produced his own curious mixture of music for Mantis, Accidental, and Perlon labels and worked with a variety of very notable artists, including Astrud Gilberto, Bettye Lavette, Roisin Murphy, Bo Diddley, George Porter, Bugge Wesseltoft, Johnny Vidacovich, and Dave Bartholomew.
