Jazz Vocal Workshops for Schools

Lillian Boutté is only the second Official Music Ambassador for New Orleans – Louis Armstrong being the first. As well as touring worldwide, playing with internationally renowned musicians, she shares her love for the music through workshops in schools and with ‘young’ people from the ages of 5 to 95!

An internationally acclaimed Jazz, Gospel and Blues singer, her unique charismatic personality, stunning voice and love for the music encapsulate an unforgettable experience for anyone involved in her workshops and concerts.

They consist of Lillian talking about the music, introducing the children / students to a range of jazz, gospel and blues songs, describing their cultural background and history and, where appropriate, teaching harmonies, jazz techniques and effects.

Most workshops culminate in a concert performed by the youngsters, either to their peers or to family and friends. The opportunity to perform what they have learnt accompanied by professional musicians is an important element of the workshop.

Bur most important of all, is it’s fun!
