Phil Parnell

Pianist/Composer/Producer from New Orleans Phil Parnell started playing
piano at an early age, studied privately with Ellis Marsalis as a
teenager, and attended Berklee College of music in Boston in the late
70's. On his return to New Orleans he began working with many different
bands in venues in and around the City of New Orleans on Bourbon Street,
in hotels and restaurants, at the jazz clubs, and various festivals in and
around south Louisiana.
Over the years he has played clubs and concert halls around the world and
shared the stage with hundreds of artists, including Lillian Boutte',
Bettye Lavette, Gatemouth Brown, Johnny Adams, Astrud Gilberto, Brian
Blade, George Porter Jr, Bo Diddly, Johnny Vidacovich, Red Holloway,
Shannon Powel and Herlin Reiley.
Phil embraces many styles and settings of music and is delighted to go
from an electronic, experimental musical situation to a traditional jazz,
gospel jazz, rhythm & blues, cabaret, solo piano, or big band scenario.
Most recently he has been performing and recording with Jamie Lidell, the
Matthew Herbert Big Band, Lillian Boutte', TJ Johnson and Denny Ilett as
well as his trio, 'PP3' and writing and producing CDs on his own Village
Studio Records label. In 2008 he was with Jamie Lidell and Street Material opening for Elton John's Red Piano Tour.
Phil's music was used in the 2009 Zurich Film festival documentary category winner "The Sound After the Storm" about New Orleans musicians after hurricane Katrina.

Espen Laub von Lillienskjold Drums! Born in Hjørring,
Denmark 1982, young Lillienskjold had a flying start in his musical
carrier, witch has brought him to international attention even before
receiving his Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma from The Royal Academy of
Music in Aarhus, Denmark. During the early years at the academy
Lillienskjold served as the rhythmic backbone of one of the most well
known Danish big-bands, witch lead him to the attention of some of the
great Danish traditional jazz players such as Willy Egmose, Kjeld
Lauritsen and Jacob Fischer, but also players from abroad, like Phil
Parnell and the widely internationally acclaimed Matthew Herbert Big Band
(UK), and also Danish experimental 28-piece group, Blood Sweat Drum’n Bass
Big Band, where Lillienskjold have had the chance to perform with such
great artists as Palle Mikkelborg, Dave Douglas, Jørgen Munkeby and many
more. Espen Laub von Lillienskjold plays in a variety of Danish and
international ensembles, and have been playing with Lillian Boutté for
several years. www.espenvon.dk
